Greetings!
Thank you for your interest in my ministerial website and in the possibilities of Unitarian Universalist ministry. This world could use every bit of the praise of life that Unitarian Universalism brings, every ounce of the work of justice, every challenge of interdependence in the intentional journey toward wholeness.
Within our faith communities strength of life can be found, reasons to hope can be affirmed, new insights and ways of being can be fostered. Through our commitment to one another, compassion can be made known as powerful, love can be realized as healing, truth can liberate us into deeper knowng and another's point of view can expand our consciousness. Church, first and foremost, is its people. In order to be relevant, it has to be a living institution; an institution of faith, tradition and daring that is embodied -- lived deliberately -- by its communities.
Ordained in May of 1992 to Unitarian Universalist ministry, I have had the privilege of serving congregations in Manhattan, NY, Queens, NY, White Plains, NY and Churchville, MD. I am in my seventeenth year as minister of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Harford County.
Ministry is a collaborative effort, for it is a relational vocation. The parish minister agrees to fulfill a role that helps guide a community to its fullness. The sacred information of the lives of those the minister encounters informs the work and strengthens the vitality of the interdependent web. A healthy congregation enjoys a dynamic synergy of minister and congregation.
I look forward to engaging in conversation about Unitarian Universalism, congregational life and ministry with you.
Blessings on your journey.
In Faith and Fellowship,
Rev. Lisa Ward
